They are two of the kindest people I have ever met.
I had some old folks come to visit last month and I was glad “M” and “M” came too. They are my husband’s uncle and aunt.
When I was first married, my hubby was still a full-time college student and I wasn’t even a “legal alien” so I wasn’t working at all. We were dead poor of course. “M” and “M”’s house had a walk-out basement. They were generous enough to let us just live there for free. We lived there for almost three years. My oldest son was born there. They had never asked for anything in return.
My hubby helped build the brick wall and probably plant some willow trees in the yard too. Those willow trees are big trees now. Time flies. Now there were probably about 10 different sets of people who haveve lived there since then. “M” and “M” treated them the same way as they did with us–let them stay for free. Some were couple who needed a short time stay for transition, some were young newlyweds needed a place to think about where they want to start their new life, and some were in their difficult time and needed a place to think about their future. I asked aunt “M” about them and she can’t even remember some of their names! (because they really were not close friends at all).
Even though our current house is not the first house we bought, but this is the first time they were able to come visit and stay for a couple of days. I was very excited about it. I felt like we finally could have our turn–having them staying at our house. I just like that feeling and I can’t explain why.
It happened to be their 50 years anniversary when they were here. 50 years. It’s truly a blessing and an achievement. You might think” But they don’t look like 80 years old!” Because they are not. Actually they are not even 70 years old yet!
I took some pictures of them after a long day. You can see after 50 years, they are still going strong! Oh! How I love these pictures, umm I mean these two people! ^_*

A “normal” shot. Just in case their posterity would like to see it.

Their idea not mine. Aren’t they the cutest couple?

“M” and “M”, I am very grateful that I met you guys at the very beginning of my new life in this new land. What you guys have done for us is really beyond my words can express. I wish you the very best and hopefully when your 60 years anniversary comes along, I am able to take your pictures again.
Till next time…
Gloria
